About

     Established in August 2008, the Office of Library and Information of Huafan University (HFU) merged by Library and Computer Center, provides the faculty, staffs, and students with a good library service and computing environment.

     The Library was established in August 1990, for the purpose of providing teaching and researching facilities for the University. We have paid equal attention to collecting book resources, references, and other educational and librarian facilities in the areas of science, technologies, and the humanities. The library has been equipped with electronic resources retrieval facilities and has been divided into various sections for references, periodicals, collections of a full range of books, Buddhist studies, audio-visual aids collection, group discussion, computer service and other facilities.

  • Our Services

Acquisition and Cataloging Division
We are responsible for books, audio-visual material collection purchase, classified catalog, books gift and exchange, and statistics related businesses.

  • Reader Services

Reader Services are responsible for circulation service, book reservation management, reference consultation, periodicals service, e-resources service, inter-institutional cooperation and extension service.

  • Systems Services

Systems Services are responsible for our automation and computer systems and the maintenance and development of digital resources, network information retrieval, and training service.

The books and reference materials collection has reached 30 thousand volumes, including books, periodicals, Bound periodicals, multimedia materials, and electronic resources.

Mission

The mission of Office of Library and Information is to provide an advance library service - combine with traditional library service and integrated information services.

We maintain campus network operation and connect to the Taiwan Academic Networks (TANet) service, provide wireless network connection, manage some major networking services like Email system and others services. We also provide six computer classrooms with licensed softwares for educational purposes.

Providing mobilize services for educational purpose is our main mission for next decade. We will build cloud services like virtual classroom and cloud storage service. We will provide App services for mobile devices and integrate services with classroom activities.

  • Library Service Division　

We are responsible for books, audio-visual material collection purchase, classified catalog, books gift and exchange, and statistics related businesses.

Reader Services are responsible for circulation services, book reservation management, Periodicals services, reference consultation, audio-visual services, inter-institutional cooperation and extension services.

 

  • Network System Division　

We are responsible for planning, installing, managing and maintaining the campus network. We are also maintaining the computer class rooms and software licensing. 

 

  • Academic Information Division

The goal of this division is to establish an integrated information system in order to provide campus-wide information services from a holistic view.  Currenly we proive a role-based campus portal with single sign-on mechanism to serve vsrious requirements of different roles, including faculty, staff, student, parent/guardian and alumna.
